The Ecology of Being: Monday Night Practice Series
Mondays 4/7/25-5/19/25 6-8pm
$20 Cash or Venmo paid at the door
Location:
Studio Nia Santa Fe, 851 W San Mateo Rd, Santa Fe, NM
This 6 week series of drop-in classes will explore the ecology of being through the dance, through the soma. We are everywhere and always made of relationship. Each of our individual bodies is a vast landscape of myriad relationships both seen and unseen, microscopic and fleshy. And each one of us is woven into a vast web of interconnectedness. There is no single moment that we are not relational, even when we are alone. What might happen to how we move through the world when we recognize, in the flesh, how intimately we are connected with everything? Come prepared to move, feel, listen within, and explore the incredible ecology of the body through solo, partner, and group work. These drop-in classes are appropriate for beginners and long-time movers alike. Please bring a full water bottle, a notebook and a pen for simple writing inquiries. Each class will begin with a warm-up; please arrive promptly so you have plenty of time to settle in. Classes designed so movers can drop-in to individual classes or participate in the whole series. $20/class, Cash or Venmo.

Open Practice Session
Monday 3/24 6-8pm
$20 Cash or Venmo paid at the door
Location:
Studio Nia Santa Fe, 851 W San Mateo Rd, Santa Fe, NM
This Open Practice Session is a chance to pray, play, and practice together with whatever curiosities and inquiries have been stirred up during the previous focused series on Resourcing. We will remember together, through dialogue and writing, some of the somatic terrain we've explored, and then we will enter into a cycle of movement with the opportunity (and intention) to give our attention to the inquiries that are calling for more exploration. While there will be no additional instruction during this session, the structure/container of practice will be held and prompts for deepening inquiry will be offered. It is highly recommended that you have attended at least one session of the previous series in order to come to the Open Practice. If you want to join and have not attended a previous session, please email me so we can connect and see what's possible. Please bring a full water bottle, a journal and pen, and arrive promptly so you have plenty of time to settle in.
$20/class, Cash or Venmo.

What to Expect in an Open Floor Class
Class opens with a 30-40 minute warm-up to move, breathe, and stretch in ways that nurture your body and soul. Guided lightly, the focus is on connecting with your body’s natural intelligence.
We’ll gather briefly to explore the evening’s theme through context, guiding questions, and a flow overview.
For 45 minutes, we’ll engage in focused movement—individually, in pairs, and in groups. Exercises are inspired by the theme and are adaptable to your needs, inviting growth at your own edge. Participation is always guided by your autonomy.
The final 25-30 minutes involve creative reflection—writing, inquiry, or other processes that let the dance flow onto the page or into voice. We’ll start solo, share in small groups, and close with a collective creation, with full freedom over what you share.
Attire & Materials
Please wear comfortable clothes you can move and sweat in and bring a water bottle. Prepare to dance barefoot or wear indoor shoes meant for dancing/movement. Chairs will be available for folks who need to dance with support. You are welcome to bring your own pen and journal if you like; paper and pen will be provided as well.
